Parking Lot Patrols
Ensuring that only students, faculty, staff, and authorized visitors are allowed on campus is crucial to the security of any school. For most campuses, this begins at their parking lots. Marked Spear Security vehicles regularly patrol parking areas on larger campuses, enforcing regulations, ensuring that any unauthorized vehicles or persons leave the premises, and ensuring the school’s legal authority to control its property is maintained.
For smaller, private parking areas, we staff gates and kiosks to screen all arriving vehicles. Our security personnel can check arrivals against lists of authorized visitors and personnel as needed.
Most unauthorized visits are innocent errors made by law-abiding people who quickly leave the premises. However, we are also able to ensure that anyone who is more persistent is calmly but firmly discouraged from attempting to gain entrance.
Monitoring the Property Point of Entrance
Spear Security personnel may staff entrances to halls and offices or other areas to create a visible presence while monitoring entrances and exits. When desired, they can also operate metal detectors and ask visitors to set aside keys and other metal items that may likely set off alarms. When alarms nevertheless go off, personnel can operate wanding equipment, ensuring any armed individuals are identified and removed from the premises.
Spear Security staff can also make sure that all doors are locked and the perimeter of the property is secured at the end of each workday.
Surveillance
Spear Security offers electronic video surveillance in buildings and parking lots to discourage and identify intruders such as petty thieves or youthful vandals. In some cases, we can also provide 24-hour remote monitoring that allows us to contact authorities if warranted or even inform would-be perpetrators that they are in violation and police have been notified.
